Well last week we had a fun packed week with Frith Manor Primary School enjoying full board accommodation in me, Avon Tyrrell House. And what an interesting time the school had with a number of light hearted antics between the teachers and pupils. It was good to see teachers and pupils able to enjoy there stay, and one unnamed teacher even fell in the lake, maybe with the assistance of a few pupils….
That last evening the children were told by their cruel and wicked teachers that their Disco session had been cancelled as there was no Avon Tyrrell staff to run it. So instead, they would have an environmental evening, the pupils responded, they cried, they begged they wailed and finally the teachers came clean and confessed it was all a joke. Peace was restored and the Disco went ahead, which all enjoyed as a fitting way to end a great week at Avon Tyrrell.
Our lodges were also full last week with other schools who also enjoyed a fantastic week at Avon Tyrrell. To book your fun week or weekend at Avon Tyrrell please visit our website http://www.avontyrrell.org.uk/ or email info@ukyouth.org.
Meanwhile the straw bale classroom build continues, the foundations are almost complete and the straw arrived. We continue to encounter small issues which can be challenging at times but we seem to manage a remedy. This up and coming week will see the ring beam complete and the first bales laid.

Hello Avon Tyrrell Staff!
How is Avon Tyrrell going? I bet all the new groups/schools coming in to stay are enjoying it thoroughly! We definitely enjoyed it a lot!
I'm a pupil from Frith Manor (Karina), and I was part of this journey. I thought the best activity was Zipwire- at first, I really found it scary, but when I tried it, I felt like I was soaring through the sky! I wanted to do it again and again! I also loved canoeing...especially jumping in, but eh, I didn't try that again, because I hate going underwater (especially when I can't swim, haha). I lost my flip flop while in the lake (it was rather warm) but luckily, I found it after a while. xD
And oh, I was devastated when our teacher announced that the next day was cancelled! And we had to have a "nature talk" instead. I felt sorry for a lot of people as all their best activities came on that day, my group were rather lucky, as we did most of our activites before.
I was in Room 1(I'll never forget that), and group 6 I think...! I loved the view we had of the swimming pool in our room, and everything!
Oh, almost forgot to tell! In our school play, we have a scene to do with Avon Tyrrell! All the good memories and funny moments! I'll never forget about Avon Tyrrell- I miss everything about it already.
I think it's about time, I ended this comment!
Thanks for the wonderful week!
Karina xx
Hey all the staff at Avon Tyrrell!
I loved the week there and it gives me so many good memories! Zip Wire and Canoeing was the best. At first I didn't believe that the disco was canceled but one of our teachers really shouted at us. It made it so hard not to believe! =P I remembered when Poojan got his finger stuck in his helmet and Fraser had to get it out for him. And also Fraser was the Rock and Roll King - lol.
Thank you guys for everything,
Andrea [pupil from Frith Manor]
